Course Title: CV Preparation & Interview Skills

Description: Applying for a new job can be a very daunting experience! Your CV needs to get you to the interview stage and then you need to know how to confidently "sell" yourself so that the prospective employer is convinced that you are the right person for the job. This course is designed to do just that.

Aim: The course provides participants with a strategy to adopt when putting together their CV and the all important covering letter. You will also learn how to convincingly present evidence of your experience and abilities to the employer at the interview in order that you stand out from the crowd and get the job!.

Objectives: At the end of the course participants will have:

• Clear knowledge of the information to be included on a CV
• Learned how to make their CV readable and attractive.
• Learned how to "point" the CV to a particular job.
• Practised how to compose effective covering letters
• A clear understanding of the basic ground rules for all interviews - the Do’s and Don’ts
• Practised how to read the job advert to identify what the employer is really looking for.
• Learned how to sell yourself - controlling the interview so that you get the chance to say what you want to say.
• Prepared for questions you might be asked and also questions that you should ask.
• Excellent reference notes for use in the future
